My buddy Dexter from IndieComic.Ninja told me about a great podcast called the Business of Art after he watched my video on Planet Comicon from a few weeks back: youtu.be/3umml42OcAA
At first I didn't want to listen to it and I thought maybe Dex had thought I was whining in my previous video, but I'm glad I got over those unfounded feelings and just gave it a listen.
It was super informative and got me thinking about my approach at cons, and how to build displays, and what to focus on when talking to attendees.
Everyone on the panel was incredibly positive, and it was encouraging to hear them reinforce many of my own goals and beliefs when it comes to selling at conventions.

The pain of change

Woof. What a weird time to be alive.
Work has closed to the public starting tomorrow. We're being encouraged to use PTO. I probably will.
This has been quite a roller coaster of emotion. It's cut into my drawing time- drawing time has become worrying time.
Time to take some of that back, I think.

I want to start by saying I greatly appreciate all of you sticking with me and reading my comic, even though my updates have been sporadic. Special thank you to my patrons over on Patreon- it helps me more than you can know to have folks supporting me and letting me know in one way or another that they like what I’m creating and want me to keep at it. Because I’ve not been going to comic shows, and don’t currently have books in print, Patreon has become my primary income for the comic, and it’s been the only thing helping me keep the lights on.
