I don't know if people still complain about this or not, but ages ago when the Tau army came out for Warhammer 40k, a lot of people complained that their battlesuits looked too 'anime' or 'gundam-like'.
So here we see a Tau diplomat working out an order with an Alliance officer from Gundam Wing.
This was a lot of fun, I've never drawn a mobile suit before!
(In case you don't get the joke, here's a ref of a Tau Crisis Suit, that people complained looked too much like a Gundam: [link] )
Characters are not mine, I just drew the picture!
Yeah if they didn't have that I would like them more. It just feels lazy to me, they could do so much with them and they didn't. I would accept hyper evolution if they found elder or necron tech on their world studied it and used to help them advance.
Very mass effect like yes, but it makes sense. I can accept it.
That was accomplished all inside of 300 years, easily.
The Tau, have had 5000 years roughly.
If it were not for the Dark ages (real life), we would almost call ourselves a near post scarcity society.
Do not blame the Tau for their elongated Tech-up. They should be more advanced if you ask me.
And people don't really complain about it anymore. It's more a subject of humor these days.
I would keep that Leo the way it is!
